I saw this picture from Tennessee and I think it says it all!
Gas prices have gotten out of control!!
"Regular - an arm...Mid - a leg.. Prem 1st born"
Our oil prices have nearly doubled in a year!
Every day it seems like I'm reading another story about "Crude oil prices hit a record high"...
When I was on the east end this weekend prices for regular were OVER that $4 mark at some spots!!
I filled up yesterday and it was more than $50 for 3/4 of a tank... and I don't have a big car.
I'm just left wondering ... how much can we take?
When gas went to $3.00 a gallon I thought it was insane.. and now I'm hunting around to see if I can find a station less than 3.85!!
Then this morning we had our live report from Wall Street ( which hasn't had much good news lately..)
Bob Plunkett said analysts came out this morning predicting oil will hit $150 a barrel by next month. He said that translates into 4.75 a gallon for gas.
And now several analysts are predicting oil will hit $200 dollars a barrel -- within two years.
I'm left wondering how we'll be able to afford these prices... something's got to give.
Maybe we'll see fewer SUV's and the streets of Long Island will look more European with Vespa's and mini coopers instead of Expeditions and Suburbans?
Maybe the days of taking a cross country trip with the kids will be a thing of the past ?( I have really great memories of driving across the country with my parents as a kid!)
I wish there was some relief in sight.
