Hi, In our culture, losing weight is no easy task. I say that because I was in Florence, Italy for four days recently and I did not see a single overweight person. Not a single one! Of course, most everyone walks just about everywhere. There are few cars in the city and walking is a pleasure. Then there’s the food. No artificial anything. Plenty of vegetables, people actually eat vegetable soup. There are beans in the salad and my rare egg breakfast came with several sprigs of dandelion greens. {The bitter taste promotes digestion.}
Then there’s the stress. I’m sure they have some, but it wasn’t evident to my eye. Everyone ambles along. The only person in a hurry was me. And before long I fell into the rhythm of the place. Everything in it’s own time. No one was inpatient in shops, no one fought me for a table in restaurants. I think I want to live there. Back to reality:
It always amazes me that morbidly obese people who get gastric surgery to make their stomach’s tiny are able to do it. Of course they are starving on the two or four teaspoons of food they eat at every meal. But the fact is they do lose weight despite all their metabolic disorders, their obvious thyroid malfunctions, their liver congestion, their poor self esteem. I could never consciously choose to eat only a few teaspoons of food, nor would I. There is no doubt that can’t be very healthy. There must be a better way to control one’s appetite.
Studies have reported that the problem with diets is not that they don’t work, but that people can’t stick to them. Well that’s where hypnosis can help. The woman in my report said that thanks to hypnosis she was able to walk past candy machines and not think about her desire for sweets. And she doesn’t know how or why. It sounds intriguing.
Best of Health,
Mary
