My morning show producer, Annette, is a rock star.
Ok, she's not like Hannah Montana--a normal person by day and on stage at night--but everyday she makes me feel like cheering because she's amazing. She rocks her job--making all of us look good everyday because of the work she does behind the scenes.
Annette picks the stories in our show--and the order all those stories go in.
Part of that is the morning check-up.
Months ago Annette started adding lots of great health news to the show. Since then the segment has grown to what we now call "The Morning Check Up."
Annette really goes above and beyond to find such interesting stories everyday for the segment. I know as soon as I start looking through my scripts and I read " Next--the drink that could curb your kids weight! "
I'm intrigued... I want to know...
Or...how about "Having kids could make you lose your teeth! The story--next."
Every day I look forward to what the morning check up (and Annette) have in store for us, and I haven't been disappointed yet.
So I figured I'd share today's interesting tid bit of information with those of you who didn't get to catch it.
You know those artificial dyes you see in some foods?
Now they're being linked to behavior problems in kids!
A consumer advocacy group is now asking the F-D-A to ban dyes--like Yellow Number 5.
That dye is found in dozens of foods like Doritos--corn flakes, even Gatorade.
The consumer advocacy group says the additive can make kids hyperactive.
But the F-D-A claims the ingredients in color additives are safe.
And get this--it's also in gum and all types of other things you wouldn't think..like yogurt!
