Beautiful piece. Hooray for the little girls.

marisol Velasquez

Danielle, this is Marisol Velasquez Jimari's mother it was so amazing for me to see the CLC ballet Cub on the news I watched it all day and just kept on crying everytime i saw my little ballerina dance and smile and atleast for the time she is dancing with her friends as I like to say not peers these are her friends and for those of you who know my Jimari know how difficult she can be and ho wthis ballet club has changed her life I knew she was dancing at school but this was my first time seeing her myself she was just adorable and so happy and yes I always wonder where will our special little girls dance after UCP hopefully this will open the eyes of ballet schools and move there hearts to allow our little ballerinas to dance because every little girl wants to be a ballerina and I refuse to be the mom that just sat b ack and did not ley her little girl fulfill her dream of dancing, even if I have to start my own ballet club in my home for our little girls, that is what mothers do we make our babies dreams come true as UCP has done and channel 12 news thanks to that coverage myy daughter will always be able to see that people do care it was interested reading the responses on the blog to read that mothers of children that do not have disabilities do understand
and again the CLC ballet club and UCP has been the best thing that has happend to my little girl I cant put in words my feelings about the staff and the teachers that have always been there for my daughter I am devestated with knowing that at age 5 jimari will be leaving UCP but I know that with all UCP has taught her and myself we will be just fine I love you all at UCPN CLC very dearly and I dont think I need to say names you all know who you are and how much you have touched our hearts..

Thank You Danielle,

At fifty, I was blessed with a little girl.

For thirty years prior, I didn't think there was anything better than a Labrador Retriever; they were my gifts from God.

Then she came along; Oh, I still love Labs, but my God, watching my daughter singing and Dancing without a care in the world is truely a special gift from the almighty.

Please post ...for all those who understand...that we too may contribute to the program that gives All little girls a chance to dance and sing.

Thank you again,

Blessed again at 50

What a lovely story! It is a pleasure to see special needs children doing what their non-disabled siblings and peers do. Their dancing may be a little different, but yes, it is dancing, and every girl IS a dancer. Please keep bringing stories like this to the Long Island viewers.

I just want to make sure it is clear that the United Cerebral Palsy of Nassau County is the group that is running this Ballet Club. Teachers, aides and physical therapist give up their lunch hour to make sure these sweet little Ballerina's get a chance to dance!

I'm not a parent of a child with disabilities, but have been an active volunteer at UCPN for over 10 years. I was first introduced to the agency by a friend who invited me to work on a committee, then met the management and took a tour of the facility. I was so impressed by the dedication of the staff and the obvious love they have for the people they help each day that I steadily became more and more involved - I now serve on their board of directors. The stories you broadcast help educated us all to the positive contribution UCPN makes to the community and those in need. Please continue to bring this message to your viewers.

Just wanted to let you know that I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED that special needs ballet class story you did. We wanted you to know how much we enjoyed it. We didn't even mind watching it again and again! It was so wonderful. It really brought smiles to our faces.

I am one of the mothers who was there that day of taping. My Daughter
Natalie was the very first shot in the segment that aired.

I do not know how to thank you for awareness on this matter. No traditional
dance school will takes a special needs child and this class answered our
prayers.

When these girls leave Children's Learning Center to go to public school, we
have no place for them to dance anymore. So by airing this I hope that
traditional schools see that special needs children can dance to and accommodate
this.

Thank you so much.

I absolutely loved this story. It's great to know people are there for these wonderful children. My daughter is a dancer, and I know how fulfilling it is to belong to a dance studio and how great it makes the girls feel to dance. I would love to write them a letter and let them know how I feel. Please send me their dance studio address, thanks.
