One-third of the country's children are overweight. 17-percent are considered obese. More and more young people have high "bad" cholesterol and could end up with heart disease.
That's pretty scary stuff! But is the answer to put so-called at risk children on cholesterol medication when they're as young as 8 years old? That's what the American Academy of Pediatrics is now recommending and it is sure to cause a stir among some fellow doctors and parents.
Consider the controversy over mandatory childhood vaccines. And think about the argument from some holistic doctors...pharmaceutical companies support medical research and medical research supports pharmaceutical companies.
