I agree with New York Jets fans who say the team needs to sign Brett Favre. It's a no-brainer. The Packers and Favre have been feuding in the media and this has now become a forum for both.
If Favre wants to come back and compete for the starting job, then so be it. After all, he ended the Pack's 13-3 season as the team's starter. What is it he can't do this year that he did last year? When he held that teary press conference about retiring this spring, I really didn't believe we heard the last of him on the field.
He says he was forced into retiring. I don't buy it . Hey, he's Brett Favre with miles of yardage thrown in his career -- which includes a Super Bowl. Favre should have retired when he was ready and not as he claimed because the team was pressuring him.
The Jets weren't looking for a QB, but when a opportunity like this comes around they must pull all of their corporate strings and get the deal done. Let's face it the Jets haven't made a splash since the departure of Bill Parcels. And even that moment was messy.
Jets make this move and be relevant again in the NFL.
