One day naturopaths will be recognized in every state as the first line of defense against illness. Their visits and natural remedies will be covered by insurance and the cost of health care will plummet. There will still be patients using drugs and surgery. Not everyone is ready to play a role in their own health and by taking some responsibility for it. Not everyone would change their diet or go to bed at a decent hour. There will still be plenty of disease. But at least those of us smart enough to want long healthy lives will be able to get help with the cost of care.
Needless to say the cost of care from a naturopath pales in comparison to the cost of a heart specialist say. But then most everyone in naturopathic care would be able to avoid bypass operations….and statin drugs and angioplasties.
Naturopaths go to a four year post graduate school. They study anatomy and physiology, but instead of drugs they study herbs, homeopathic remedies, diets, stress reduction techniques, manipulation techniques, supplements and healing systems from around the world.
There are less than a dozen naturopaths on LI. We’re lucky we have that many…because as I understand it the medical community including the chiropractic community doesn’t want the competition. So their license is not yet accepted here. They are limited in what and how they can treat.
That will change. And it will not be soon enough.
To Your Good Health,

Thank you for this segment! Alternative medicine and their practioners deserve more recognition for its many benefits.
Please give info on how the public can help get naturopaths, homeopaths and other alternative practioners the recognition they deserve.
