Astronomical Winter starts December 21st at 7:04am. It's the shortest day of the year and we only get about 9 hours of daylight. The Sun's direct rays hitting the Tropic of Capricorn, which is located at 23 1/2 degrees south, is why we have little daylight and cold temperatures. We only get a piece of the sun's incoming solar radiation, unlike in the summer when we get most of the sun's direct rays.
Nice info.Mr.Hoffman id like to tell you that you and the other news 12 li weathermen are my heros for forecasting.
