Talk about having fun at work-
I've been on the hunt to find 20 dates for $20 (or less).
But since the scenario is for work--I didn't head out with my husband-- I headed out with my partner Dave, my amazing cameraman!
Dave Garden and I usually work together twice a week and typically make each day a lot of fun! But this series took our excitement to a new level. We were out and about all over Long Island checking out great date spots! And with my long wish list-- I'm sure I drove Dave just a bit crazy-- but I wanted to capture as much excitement as I could-
I'm not writing about every date here-- just giving you a little highlight of some of our stops--
Our first stop was Once Upon a Dish in Garden City-- and while I'm not crafty.. I think my plate was still pretty cool- and since they let you bring in your own wine & food -- and play great music I think it seems fantastic especially if either one of you is creative! If I'm not crafty and it came out ok-- imagine what you could make if you are artistic! And it's all dishwasher safe!
The Melting Pot in Farmingdale was another highlight-- fondu for 2 for $16-- and it looked delish!! If you're going to indulge, this is a great way to do it-- and the special isn't just for Valentine's day it's everyday. They even have cute little 2 person booth's-- so you can be cozy and feel like you have some private time together!
Governor's Comedy Club and the Brokerage Comedy Club are having a special just for love birds for the month of February-- every Thursday & Sunday FREE ADMISSION-- but you need to act on this one before the month ends-- there's even some great Long Island comedians taking the stage too!
One thing that won't go away and was one of the most fun to shoot--SALSA SUNDAY!! What a great time!!!- It's at the Winner's circle in Westbury. For $7 you get a one hour dance lesson & then you can stay all night and practice your fancy footwork!! The people there were so nice & fun-- the place just had a great energy and I think Dave even picked up a few moves!! I know I did :)
I've never played Laser tag before but my first time will definitely not be my last!! What fun!! It's hysterical to see the outtakes too!! Apparently Dave was trying to get shots but I was so into the game I was playing with the guys from Laser Kingdomthat I kept running and hiding from him-- ooopppss. There is a headset too so I didn't hear anyone-- I was in the zone & laughing up a storm!!!
But I was all business on the Go Kart trackand I have to say Dave was amazing-- they put this special stuff on the track that made it very slippery-- so as we're whizzing around I was nervous the whole time that I would take out Dave-- who is looking through this little viewfinder! Then he jumps in a 2 seater -- kneels with the camera on his shoulder and turns around to shoot me coming at him-- mind you that we're going about 30mph at this point! Talk about getting your heart racing.
Dave was such a good sport with all our adventures. I hope if you decide to give any of them a try you have as much fun as we did!
William, that's why the dancing is so inexpensive. You work off the calories from using cheese and chocolate as beverages!

I say that you did very well painting that heart on your plate in Once Upon A Dish. That was great. Great job, Elizabeth.

"...The Melting Pot in Farmingdale was another highlight-- fondu..."
Yeah...nothing says love like having your wife gorge down massive amounts of cheese and bread.
I can just hear it now:
Hey honey, you're ONLY 20 pounds overweight, let's order another pot of chesse.
Elizabeth, you can't be serious?
