Snow lovers shouldn't give up all hope just yet, although I have to say it does get quite warm in February. Winter goes through March 21st, but last year, on February 6th, we had temperatures on Long Island reach into the low 60s. This year, on February 11th, temperatures soared into the 50s and 60s. Brookhaven National Lab hit 62, breaking the old record of 58, which was set in 1960. Islip hit 58, breaking the old record of 52, which was set in 2002.
Starting this weekend, I think we will see temperatures at or below normal, with a couple of days above normal until the end of the month. The weather pattern also looks a little stormy. A few periods, I am watching are the 18th and 19th, the 23rd and 24th, and the 27th and 28th
As you may know, I love snow. And I'm not the only one. Ziggy268, who posts on the News12 Weather Forum, seems to love snow even more than I do. Also, my friends at TRI-STATE Weather board are always hunting the next cold air mass and major storm.

A reminder that February is the snowiest month. We do get some big snows in March as well.
