If it seems like I endorse virtually everything I report on…well, you’re right. And this case is no different. But then how could I report on something I don’t believe in. Except to warn you off.
No warning here: Cranial Sacral Therapist Adam Haikim is an effective practitioner and great guy. He has a very modest office in a simple cape cod in Merrick. The patients he supplied have clearly befriended him. Does that make them less likely to be telling the truth about the effectiveness of his work? I don’t think so. I think they have befriended him because Adam is such a loving and generous man, it is inevitable he would engender warm feelings from everyone he treats. I too find myself feeling friendly towards the therapists I go to for help with my health issues. I was suffering from a crick in my neck the day I was taping the report on Adam. While I never accept free services…this day I allowed Adam to treat me for ten minutes. Well, the crick in my neck, that I’ve had for three months. ..is gone. … after just ten minutes. I’m impressed. I will be going back and paying the 100 an hour for his treatments. I think he is worth it.
If you’re still not sure what a cranial sacral therapist is good for. …I’m not surprised. The answer is any chronic pain and virtually any health condition. You see, by treating the brain and the master gland: the pituitary…you can treat all hormonal issues….insomnia, infertility... menstrual irregularities…and headaches of course. But it can also treat pain….in the arm, the neck the hips. Truth be told Adam Haikim says: I can’t be sure if I can help someone until I treat them. Then I’m sure.
What Adam Hakim does, is part of the work of every hands on osteopath. But in their case many other techniques are involved…Adam sticks to cranial sacral work, my impression is that he has mastered it. But since there is no license for a cranial sacral therapist he is also a physical therapist.
The more I do this work, the more I realize how lucky we are here on Long Island. There are so many wonderful, dedicated therapists determined to help you get well. That is a blessing.

Thank you Dr. Silverman for getting to the truth about some of the holistic rubbish continually posted on this blog site.

Oh please...
If these "therapist" were ever to suggest to any self-respecting neurosurgeon, that they could move the sutures of the skull with ounces of force, they would get laughed right out of the room.
Mary - Tell your good friend that the bones of the skull fuse by the end of adolescence and no research has ever demonstrated that manual manipulation can move the individual cranial bones.
No you can see why there is no license for cranial sacral therapy.
