It's officially Spring, but it sure doesn't feel that way right now with temps in the 30's. Hopefully, we'll get warmer weather soon and Long Island golfers can hit the links again. Which brings me to Golf Long Island, News 12's weekly instructional segment. Photographer Drew Singh and I, were out today taping the first batch of reports for the new season. They'll feature John Ondrush, certified golf fitness professional. He runs the John Ondrush Golf Fitness Academy out of Tam O'Shanter Country Club in Brookville. John is the best of the best when it comes to fitness. And he has some great, easy to do, exercises to help golfers warm up before they tee off. If you're one of those players who rush straight from home to the course without loosening up, you won't want to miss John's simple routines for stretching to make your round a lot more enjoyable. Just like you wouldn't play without hitting some balls, John says you really need to work on your shoulders, hips and hamstrings to play your best. And following John we'll head to Indian Hills Country Club in Ft. Salonga for on course golf tips from head professional Joe Laurentino. If you don't know, Joe has written a superb instructional book, "The Negotiable Golf Swing." We got some of Joe's philosophy last year. And I'm sure he has more to add this season. So, here's hoping for higher temps and you're very best golf from tee to green.
